Contaminations - Contaminazioni

I like contaminations between different handmade techniques, so, before summer break, I tried to combine tatting and crochet in a new pattern.
The result? A colorful placemat and coaster set. Both pieces are formed by a spiral of double crochet stitches, which develops until to reach an edge of rings and chains that complete its evolution and encapsulate it totally.


Amo le contaminazioni tra diverse tecniche artigianali, così, prima della pausa estiva, ho provato a combinare chiacchierino e uncinetto in un nuovo modello.
Il risultato? Un coloratissimo sottobicchiere con sottopiatto abbinato, entrambi formati da una spirale di maglie alte che si sviluppa fino a raggiungere un bordo di anelli e archi che ne completa l'evoluzione e la racchiude totalmente.

This is not the first time I work around patterns of this kind, in the past I have already published two projects: "Motif 5" and "Tatting doily (Christmas 2016)"...if you have not read their respective posts yet, I suggest you take a look; they are really easy to make :-)

When a pattern requires a mixture of two techniques, generally we find a prevailing technique and a secondary technique: the first is used to make the most of the work, the second to complete the pattern.
The effect is emphasized if we use different colours for each technique.
In the above mentioned patterns, I used tatting as primary technique and crochet as secondary; this time, on the contrary, the crochet is the principal actor, while the tatting is the final touch for completing the work.

Questa non è la prima volta che lavoro su modelli di questo tipo, in passato ho già pubblicato due progetti: il "Motivo 5" e il "Centrino a chiacchierino (Natale 2016)"...se non avete ancora letto i rispettivi post, vi suggerisco di dare un'occhiata; sono veramente facili da realizzare :-)

Quando un modello richiede l'impiego di due tecniche, generalmente ne troviamo una prevalente e un'altra secondaria: la prima è utilizzata per realizzare la maggior parte del lavoro, la seconda per completare il modello.
L'effetto risulta enfatizzato se usiamo colori diversi da abbinare a ciacuna tecnica.
Nei modelli sopra citati, ho usato il chiacchierino come tecnica primaria e l'uncinetto come tecnica secondaria; questa volta, al contrario, è l'uncinetto a farla da padrone mentre il chiacchierino rappresenta il tocco finale che completa il lavoro.
